A day to connect with the local reality of Rio de Janeiro, to understand its challenges and the solutions being implemented to face them.
The Learning Experiences will also be opportunities to connect with other Impact Minds, maintain the exchange of experiences and go beyond traditional contexts.

Places for each experience are limited and will be considered in order of registration.
BANCO DA PROVIDÊNCIA
Banco da Providência is a non-profit social organization founded in Rio de Janeiro more than 60 years ago which has contributed to reducing social inequality through human development, professional and entrepreneurial training. It generates jobs and income for women and young people in extreme socioeconomic vulnerability.
The visit will be an immersive experience in the Women's Productive Social Inclusion Program. Participants will get to know the space where activities take place and the organization’s action strategies. In addition, they will have the opportunity to put their hands to work and experience moments of practical learning in the training workshops.

SPECTACULU
Spectaculu - School of Art and Technology is a non-profit institution, founded in December 1999 at the Rio de Janeiro Port.
The school is an initiative of civil society and has the mission of training and inserting in the creative industry labor market young people from Rio de Janeiro’s fringes.
During the visit, we will do hands-on workshops with students on stage techniques and prop production.

BNDES
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is the main instrument of Brazilian Federal Government for financing and investment, which supports entrepreneurs through investments (directly or via financial agents) as well as it projects structuring services and grants non-reimbursable resources to encourage projects that promote socio-environmental impact.
The visit will address two pioneering impact initiatives:

FIOCRUZ
The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), created in 1900, works for the development of public health in Brazil, being considered the major reference of health science and technology in Latin America. Places visited:

SINAL DO VALE
Instituto Sinal do Vale is an innovative campus that aims to foster a regenerative economy responsive to contemporary challenges through the development of practical solutions for the regeneration of social and natural ecosystems.
During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to experience the campus, participate in activities such as planting seedlings, talk directly with the founder, Thais Corral, as well as enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch.

INSTITUTO TERRA DE PRESERVAÇÃO AMBIENTAL (ITPA)
ITPA is an environmental organization founded in 1998 in the interior of Rio de Janeiro State. Today, it is present in 13 municipalities, with actions to protect climate, biodiversity and water. It has an Environmental Education Center and nursery school in the municipality of Miguel Pereira.
During the visit, participants will be able to know the organization’s work and participate in the production of native seedlings of the Atlantic Forest.
The ITPA team has planted more than 4.5 million trees in partnership with hundreds of landowners.

ÁGUAS DO RIO | AEGEA
The Aegea Institute is a nationwide non-profit organization, with the mission of providing environmental quality, human development and improving the lives of the population in the municipalities where the Aegea Group operates, aiming to generate impact and shared prosperity through the best socio-environmental practices.
We will visit Barreira do Vasco, a community served by Águas do Rio, a concessionaire of the Aegea Group, which sought an innovative approach to guarantee access to the drinking water in the region. And the concessionaire's COI (Integrated Operations Center), where water supply and sewage collection and treatment in 27 cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro are monitored in real time, 24 hours a day.

CIDADE DO SAMBA
The visit will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the universe of Rio de Janeiro’s samba schools, showing the backstage of the parade creation, the history of samba from its birth and the "carioca" carnival.
In addition to visiting the space with the carnival atmosphere and samba school preparation, participants will make a dance and percussion workshop.

PEQUENA ÁFRICA
The project aims to rescue and give visibility to the history of Africans and Afro-descendants who landed in Brazil or were born here in the old port area of Rio. Named Little Africa, the ancient port district has significant cultural landmarks.
The visit will be a presential class in this historical space, where we seek to stimulate the knowledge of multiculturalism in the formation of Brazilian society.
The visit is totally made on foot, thus, it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.

QUILOMBO CAFUNDÁ ASTROGILDA
The "quilombo" – a traditional village of escaped enslaved people – occupies an area of the Pedra Branca (White Stone) State Park, created in 1974.
The visit will be a trail through the whole area, with the aim of getting to know the local history. During the journey, there will be moments of information with the quilombo guides.
The entire visit route is made on foot. This experience is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
